NEW HOUSING FOR KUWINDA RESIDENTS.
Nairobi county government has constructed new tin sheet houses for residents of Kuwinda estate, Karen whose house were razed down by fire.
The fire razed down houses in March 2017 leaving approximately 2000 people homeless.
The new mabati houses have been built at a cost of 5m Kenya shillings to the victims of this slum fire.
“Today marks an important milestone for residents of Kuwinda village as my team finally expedited the reconstruction of houses that were razed down by an unfortunate fire incident in March. The county government facilitated the construction of the 1000 units that I am handing over today,” said Dr Evans Kidero.
The governor was accompanied by his deputy Jonathan Mueke and ODMs Nairobi woman representative Esther Passaris.
City hall will also construct an ablution block and provide water to residents.
The governor promise to fast track the remainder of the houses for the residents not yet housed.
