The troubles facing beleaguered Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko have just doubled after announcement by police that he will face more charges.
In a stamen released at around midday today, on December Saturday 7, police said they will prefer charges arising from Sonko’s conduct during arrest.
“During the arrest he (Sonko) became abusive, unruly and violent in an attempt to resist hence obstructing police officers from the lawful execution of their duties,” said the statement.
Police also said they were aware of people planning to cause unrest following Sonko’s arrest.
“The general public is therefore warned that persons intending to assemble, demonstrate, or picket must do so with strict adherence to the law,” said the statement.
