The County Government of Nakuru is asking the government to conclude the construction of Itare Dam.
Deputy Governor Dr Erick Korir said water from the dam, when completed, would help quench thirst for drinking water in the county.
Construction of the dam has stopped because the company that was carrying out the exercise filed for bankruptcy. Also, the dam, as well as two proposed dames, Kimwarer and Arror became the subject of investigation for corruption.
Dr Korir asked agencies handling the Itare saga to quickly finish with investigations so that construction can resume.
“We want the project back on track,” he said.
The DG was speaking in Ngata, Nakuru, during the funeral of retired long-serving teacher Ceciliah Rotich.
“The late has served in the teaching profession for 36 years,” said Dr Korir.
